Speaker: Jeff Jarvis

Think of the last time you realized that you were wrestling again with a similar pattern, habit, behavior that you determined to change, perhaps years ago? How is it that we can so easily fall back into ruts and ways of living that don’t reflect our deepest desires and values and then go for months, even years, without realizing it? There is a practice that is very common among those who avoid this trap. A practice that can be valuable on so many levels, especially for your spiritual journey, but sadly, in our busy, distracted culture, it’s often brushed off or missed.

This Sunday I want to talk about the practice of “Reflection”. More importantly, I want you to experience what it can do for you. Perhaps you’ve been saying for a while that it’s time for personal change, growth, a deeper spirituality. That it’s time to break free from some of the patterns or ruts you’ve been in. Determine right now to carve out an hour Sunday morning and get your butt to the gym. Life change awaits.

Questions for Reflection:

  • Do I know what I want most in life?
  • What do I truly value?
  • On a scale of 1-10 – how aligned is my life with my values?
  • What is/are the thing(s) that are most out of order in my life right now?
  • Based on what I spend my money on?
  • Based on what I spend my time on?
  • Based on where I spend the most energy?
  • What or who, in my life, am I taking for granted?
  • Am I putting enough effort into my relationships?
  • Am I taking care of myself?
  • What is one thing in my life that I’m the most proud of?
  • What one thing in my life am I most ashamed of?
  • Why is that?
  • Is there a story connected to my shame?
  • Is my shame affecting my choices?
  • What is one thing that causes me the most stress?
  • Why do I think that is?
  • What is it that I’m most afraid could happen?
  • Is there some underlying experience or fear that is holding me back?
