Put any 2 or more people in a room and I’m guessing you will have 2 or more emotions in that room. Some people might be happy, some might be sad. Some might be furious, some might be frustrated. The idea of everyone feeling the same thing at the same time seems pretty unlikely.

Emotional Arousal theory tells us that this difference in emotions actually feels threatening to our brains. Like when we get mad and someone with us responds with humor – it usually just makes us more angry!

In preparation for the spiritual Gym this Sunday, we want to encourage you to be mindful of when someone feels a different emotion than you – happy when you feel sad, angry when you feel scared, calm when you feel upset – and see how you react to the difference in emotions: does it calm you down, or make you more upset?

See you at the Spiritual Gym this Sunday, and invite someone in your life that is looking to become the healthiest version of themselves. This will help 🙂
