It was over coffee at Higher Grounds in Kensington, that a guy I was meeting with, asked about a particularly difficult chapter in my past. As I went back into my memories and tried retelling the story, I fumbled over certain details. It quickly became obvious to both of us that I hadn’t spent much time processing that dark time. But something undeniable happened to me as I did. I experienced a thin place – a “God moment”. I walked out of that coffee shop that day puzzled by how remembering and retelling that difficult story could impact me so deeply. I shouldn’t have been surprised though. This practice of “remembering” has been creating powerful thin places for 1000’s of years. In fact, the Bible is loaded with stories of our spiritual ancestors doing it. Have you tried this? This Sunday at the gym we’re going to talk about it and then we’re going to do it! Invite a friend and be there. ~Jeff
