I have a problem…
I don’t deal very well with certain groups of people. In fact, the group I struggle with most, typically, is “religious people” . I just don’t do well with them. What’s weird is, it’s not people from other faith traditions nor with people who don’t really do spirituality in the formal sense of the word. It’s people who call themselves Christians, but live out their spirituality in a very group-prescribed way. This is the group that we have referred to as Stage 2’ers.

Why are we so interested in lumping them into one big broad category and calling them “Stage 2’ers”? What is it about identifying someone by their group that can feel so good? This week, we are going to talk about problems that arise from putting people in groups, and how it might actually be colliding with our personal values.
