Wednesday morning we hiked to the water catchment site first and then the water distribution site. It was a huge trek. The water catchment starts from a natural spring and travels 2 kilometres to the distribution centre. It was amazing to be told the story by the Mayor of Rio Azul and the Vice President of the water project. Every member of the village took part in digging the ditch for the water to travel from catchment to distribution (2 km) and they did it in one day. An incredible, almost unbelievable, feat that means everyone has a personal investment and commitment to improving their community.

In the afternoon we played with the children of Rio Azul. The fellas on our team played soccer with the boys. The women on our team played games with the girls.

We also did three sponsor visits yesterday. These are always inspiring, sometimes challenging and incredibly transformational for our team members. The families seem truly appreciative of our visit.

Finally, at the end of the day, when we mostly felt like crawling into bed – we mustered the strength to instead represent our country in an intense soccer match with the FH staff. We are proud to announce WE WON!

Water: anything that God uses in and through us to make the world better. How are you bringing water to your world today?
