I have a bone to pick with the spirituality I grew up with and their secret agenda against all things that feel good. I’m serious here. If you’ve been touched by traditional Christianity, chances are you, like me, have been lead to believe Christianity is incompatible with any of the following:
Dancing
Good food
Looking good
Good booze
And anything other thing that might be physically enjoyable.
But I don’t think Jesus would have agreed. And I don’t think our spiritual ancestors would have agreed at all.
Maybe it’s time to reintegrate the ancient practice of physical pleasure with our spirituality. Especially during the summer. If you are in town, join us for my best attempt to help you connect your spirituality with things that feel good physically, and I’ll even create a little mini party before the end of the service, complete with childcare.
