There’s this story of Jesus summing up the Christian life and he responds with love God and love your neighbor.
But what if you don’t know your neighbor? What if that lack of knowledge makes you a bit scared of them, or at least reserved from them. How well can you love a neighbor that you don’t know? We don’t think very well.
So, a few years ago, we created a series called “Love Your Neighbor.” And every so often, we introduce you to your neighbors: people in your world.
We give you a face, a person, a story behind your neighbor. We help you get to know them. We let you ask them questions. We become friends.
And this time, it’s going to be no different. We are going to introduce you to your Buddhist neighbor.
Time and time again people have told us that these Sundays changed something inside of them, that knowing your neighbor who is a bit different from you truly allows you to love them more. Because isn’t that what Jesus called us to do?
