We’ve been exploring hardships faced by the people of Israel back at the time of the original Christmas story. Suffering that, in fact, makes much of our current pandemic hardships seem trivial.

For all the technological advancements and progression that our modern society has achieved, one thing we haven’t had to learn is how to endure longer periods of hardship. Let’s face it…for many of us, in the western world anyway, this is a new experience.

As we began talking about last week, there are emotional and mental practices that can help us “suffer well” – to even thrive, in darker times. Practices that the original audience of the Christmas story were likely well versed in.

This Sunday, we’ll explore another practice that can lead to uncanny calm in troubled times. We hope you will join us in person or online.
