Wow, with all that’s going on in the world right now, hope is a tricky thing isn’t it? From the world stage to our personal lives, I’m guessing that we all have moments of hopelessness. Moments where we can’t contemplate life getting any better, we’re stuck where we are, it can’t get any better. And in a strange way, there is truth in those feelings – the feelings of hopelessness.

Hopelessness is also part of the Christmas story. I know it`s not a common part of it, but like the title of this series indicates, we are looking at the stories that are not often told at Christmas. But there is wisdom in these stories

Join us this week as we explore the intersection between the Christmas story, Gerry Smiley – a double lung transplant survivor from our community – and the writings of Viktor Frankl – survivor of the holocaust.

If you are struggling to find hope in a difficult world, this is one to make time for. And if you have someone in your life that is wrestling with this, invite them – it just might help. See you Sunday at the Spiritual Gym.
