This Sunday – The Unraveling – Base Camp 2

Speaker: Jeff Jarvis

Have you ever identified with the following statements?

1. I have a strong negative reaction to words, phrases, Bible passages, and worship songs that used to bring me comfort and peace.

2. I feel sad, angry, afraid, and lost after a painful church experience.

3. I have experienced a significant shift in my theology or faith perspective and find myself disoriented and unsure.

4. I sometimes wonder if God exists at all.

5. I have lost friends and signficant relationships because of my shifting faith.

6. I feel scared that if I share some of these doubts and concerns out loud, I will be judged, have scripture thrown at me, or ostracized.

7. I worry that if I disconnect from church, my kids will miss out on developing their faith, so I keep going for them.

8. I don’t even know how to articulate where I am spiritually these days.

If you can relate to any of the above statements, chances are, you’ve experienced life at Base Camp 2. What can be one of the most terrifying and confusing parts of the spiritual journey. Trust us, if that’s you, you aren’t alone.
