Recently, I was with some friends of a friend. And, since I didn’t know these people well, I asked my friend, are they going to tell me I’m going to hell? Odd question, hey? They were nice Christian people. I’m a nice Christian person. And yet, because of how my spirituality looks, I felt I had to ask that question.
Do you have someone in your life that doesn’t agree with how you are doing your spirituality? Is it the person you thought would be supportive of you being spiritual? In my life, I find it’s often my non-Christian friends who seem to be supportive of my spirituality over my Christian friends. Why is there so much tension between people who all identify as Christians? Shouldn’t we all be supporting each other?
We are learning there is a reason for all this tension. After this Sunday, you should be able to understand why someone who calls themselves a Christian might judge you when you call yourself the same.
