Frequently Asked Questions

What age group is SWITCH for?

  • We don’t go by age but rather by grade. SWITCH events are designed for grades 5-9 (though older kids still enjoy the program).

How often does SWITCH take place?

  • SWITCH is scheduled most months.  See calendar above to sign up for upcoming events.
  • We take a break from SWITCH events over the summer.

What is the cost to attend SWITCH?

  • The cost of events will vary, but we have set aside funds to help those who can't afford the cost.
  • We never want anyone to miss out.

What does the word SWITCH stand for?

  • We are asked this occasionally, and although we would like to give you a wild explanation, we actually just like the name. 😉

Can I volunteer for SWITCH?

  • We're always looking for enthusiastic volunteers. Whether they are high school-aged, a young adult, or a parent. We want to build a team of people who have a desire to help youth learn through activity and fun
  • All volunteers will need to provide references and have a clear vulnerable sector check as part of our vetting process. There will also be an orientation to ensure they understand our values and expectations.
  • If you would like to enrich the world by working with SWITCH students, please check out our Volunteering Through Friends Church Page.

What are you guys all about?

  • SWITCH is about inspiring youth to a healthy spirituality that Takes Water to their world.
  • We strive to provide a place that is fun and safe for youth to build friendships, to play, to wrestle with life's questions, and to think deeply about the kind of person they are becoming.
  • We don't shy away from tough topics and encourage each youth to discover the strengths and talents that they possess.
  • It is a place where youth will have the opportunity to "Take Water" or to give back and make a difference.
