Project Mexico 2026 - Day 4

Project Mexico Day 4: Build!
What a whirlwind day of rapid progress at the job site! What started as only a cement pad this morning has finished the day as a full home with walls, a roof, drywall, and even a loft complete with a ladder.
While the delayed second flight began their drive down to Ensenada, half of the team headed to the job site to get started and meet the family. We were greeted by the wonderful mama, Esmeralda, and her two daughters and immediately fell in love with their joy and spirit.
The first tasks to get started on were painting of the materials, and framing the walls. We quickly learned that the family was very eager to help with as much work as they could and the girls were thrilled to help paint.
The walls went together incredibly quickly due to the prep work that our job team had done before we arrived. Before lunchtime, the home had four exterior walls and interior walls. At that point the second half of the team arrived and quickly jumped in to help with the next steps. We got the loft floor up, then broke into three different groups. One worked inside on the electrical, another on the roofing, and a third on the painting.
By the end of the day, the home had taken shape and looks beautiful. We were all excited to call it a day and head back to the accommodation house for a quick dip in the ocean and dinner before heading in and calling it a night.
Check back tomorrow for updates and to find out how much progress is made tomorrow!
