Showing Up for Silver Linings: Community, Care, and Making a Difference

Sometimes making a difference looks like showing up, putting in a shift, and knowing that your time can help change lives.

This September, members of our Friends Church community came together to support the Silver Linings Foundation by volunteering at their casino fundraiser at Elbow River Casino. For more than a decade, Silver Linings has been working to expand access to quality eating disorder care for Albertans and build a stronger continuum of recovery and community support.

Our goal was simple: volunteer one shift and help raise approximately $2,000 to support people struggling with eating disorders.

We’re grateful to everyone who stepped forward to fill the volunteer needs and give their time. While a casino shift may seem like a small thing, when a community comes together, those small acts add up to something much bigger.

This is what it means to Take Water to your World—seeing a need, showing up, and helping make our community a little stronger.
