Speaker:Vince Klassen & Miranda Steinwand

There is a moment in many of our spiritual journeys when it feels like things are going off the rails. I’ve had it. My co-speaker is in the middle of it. And I’ve talked with many of you who know that feeling well. It’s the feeling like “all is not well.” What brought us comfort or strength in the past no longer does. Much of what we believed and worked for us in the past no longer does. This can be an incredibly hard time in our lives!

But, this is also a well-known part of the spiritual journey, acknowledged and spoken of by our spiritual ancestors. Yet, many of us feel like we have to hide it. Hide our doubts, and our struggles. Hide the lack of belief and skepticism.

But here at Friends Church we don’t think of it as something to hide. In fact, we think it can be something to celebrate. It is likely the next step in our spiritual journey and should be done in the company of a community that understands and will journey with us through this difficult part of our lives.

If you have any resonance with these feelings, if you know someone who has resonance with these feelings, I want to encourage you to come to the Spiritual Gym this Sunday and learn about this common stage of the journey. Not only that, but be in the company of people who really, really get you.
