“Thank God!” “Someone must be living right!” “Everything happens for a reason” “#blessed”

There are many sayings and hashtags that get used everyday in conversation, especially in religious circles, that directly or indirectly imply supernatural forces are at work altering people’s physical realities. Whether you believe in this kind of thing or not, you have to admit it’s pretty reassuring to think this happens. That someone or something out there might be helping or protecting you, orchestrating life events so that everything turns out. This was the conventional rationale used in Jesus’ day, to explain many strange, coincidental, and even tragic life events that occured.

Recently I was drawn to a really interesting story of Jesus when he was asked about this kind of stuff. What he had to say was anything but conventional.

This Sunday, we’re going to explore what he said along with the complexity of this conventional belief. We’re hoping to shed light on, what could be, some deeper wisdom around this. Wisdom that could lead to something pretty life-changing. If you’ve ever wrestled with why certain things in life happened the way they did – you won’t want to miss this one. We hope you’ll invite a friend and join us.
