Celebrating a Season of Generosity and Impact

This year’s Clothes Line – Donate Clothing, Give Dignity event was nothing short of inspiring. Hosted by Ogden Community Church in partnership with The Mustard Seed, this heartfelt initiative once again brought together individuals, families, and organizations to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.

As summer drew to a close and the back-to-school season approached, we set out to fill our “Clothes Line” with clean, gently used clothing, shoes, hygiene products, and other essentials for families preparing for the colder months ahead. The response from our community was overwhelming.

What We Achieved Together

• Many families served with access to free, high-quality clothing and seasonal essentials.

• Dignity restored through a “shopping” experience where guests could choose what they needed most—without cost or judgment.

• Generous donations collected including children’s and adult clothing, shoes, hygiene products, hangers, and reusable bags.

• Leftover items re-purposed and donated to the Calgary Drop-In Centre, ensuring nothing went to waste.

The Power of Community

From the first call for donations to the final moments of the event, our volunteers and donors showed unwavering commitment. Families, friends, and neighbors came together—emptying closets, delivering bags of gently used clothing, and offering words of encouragement and compassion. The impact was felt not just in the items given, but in the hope, connection, and respect shared between everyone involved.

Looking Ahead

The success of this year’s Clothes Line confirms what we already know—when we unite around a cause, real change happens. With the continued partnership of Ogden Community Church, The Mustard Seed, and our incredible volunteers and donors, we look forward to growing this initiative, reaching more families, and continuing to share the message that dignity is a gift we can all give.
