Guest Speaker: Jeremy Duncan

There is limit to propositional truth. It is precise technical language, in the vein of an airplane repair manual. It gives us detailed analysis of structural minutia. Stories on the other hand, do so much more than that. They can give us glimpses and hints of things that can’t be reduced down into agree or disagree statements. They help us ask questions about God as a character. Tolkien once said of his work that it is “of course fundamentally religious and Catholic, but saying such things and making them explicit risks spoiling these very aspects”. Perhaps, there is something to learn about faith in his approach to storytelling. Join us this Sunday, as we explore these concept with Guest Speaker Jeremy Duncan.
