Jasper Fire

Due to a wildfire in Jasper, Alberta, approximately 4,000 people were evacuated from the area. The evacuation was a precautionary measure due to the rapid spread of the fire and the threat it posed to safety and property.

The fire began and was fueled by dry weather and strong winds, leading to rapid spread. The blaze prompted widespread evacuations and posed challenges for firefighting teams working to contain it. Despite extensive damage to some natural areas within Jasper National Park, efforts were made to safeguard critical infrastructure and minimize harm to local communities.

Friends Church raised funds to assist those impacted directly by the Fire and all funds raised were matched dollar for dollar by the Provincial & Federal Governments.
