This morning, we had the privilege of hosting the “Key Ceremony,” where we officially handed over the keys to the home we built for the Quiroz family. It was an emotional moment, made even more special by the housewarming gifts we presented to them. These gifts were carefully chosen after our team spent the week getting to know Zenaida (the mother), her children, and grandchildren. Every gift was selected with love and thoughtfulness, reflecting the bond we formed during our time together.

There were many tears and heartfelt expressions of gratitude. Zenaida, deeply moved, shared with us her desire to pay it forward. She vowed to “take water” in every way she could, helping others just as we had helped her. What an inspiring commitment!

This home will be life-changing for the Quiroz family, and in many ways, it has been life-changing for us too. As we drove away from the barrios of Tijuana, our hearts were filled with gratitude—for the means, the support, and the opportunity to “take water” in such a tangible way. Now, we’re turning our focus toward how we can continue to take water in our everyday lives.
