Project Mexico 2026 - Day 5

What a beautiful day full of hard word, inspiration, growth, and learning. Today the team put in an incredible day of work and were able to finish the entire home, including the addition of trim inside.

Today's tasks included completion of the roof, drywall mudding, making a stand for the water tank, electrical completion, windows and doors, painting, and trim work. We also made a stop at the nearby migrant camp to drop off some food and clothes, which was an incredibly eye opening experience to see how people with so little can have so much joy and gratitude.

Some of the highlights of the day involved getting hugs and high fives from the daughters in the family and seeing their joy as they saw new bedroom and told us about the pink rug and Barbie posters they plan on putting in it.

Finishing the build so quickly has felt surreal for everyone but we are feeling incredibly excited for the family to receive their keys tomorrow and grateful to have been able to experience the beauty of the people in this area of Mexico.
