We’ve all been there. Life hits hard—a sudden health crisis, a relationship unraveling, financial catastrophe. There’s no shortage of ways life can spiral out of control. And when it does, what do we do?
For many in our tradition, these moments become a turning point—a time to look up and start Talking to the Sky. Praying. Pleading for help, clarity, or just a little hope.
But what happens if your spiritual journey doesn’t include a Superbeing in the sky? What if the idea of a God who intervenes doesn’t resonate with you? What if you’ve tried prayer before, only to feel like it didn’t work—especially in those “if prayer ever works, it would be now” moments?
What if your spiritual path is one where the concept of God doesn’t fit at all? Can prayer mean anything for someone who identifies as atheist?
This series, we’re diving deep into the vast and varied landscape of prayer within our tradition. We’ll explore the traditional practices, the ancient methods that have been forgotten, and even fresh perspectives that can resonate today.
Because here’s the thing: if we can broaden our understanding of what prayer can be, we believe prayer still has something to offer everyone—yes, even atheists.
Come with an open heart and a curious mind. Let’s rethink, rediscover, and redefine what it means to Talk to the Sky.
