What is the Bible?
Many have been told it’s an “owner’s manual for life.” But open it up, and that metaphor falls apart fast. Rules about slavery, food sacrificed to idols, or what to do with a second wife don’t exactly map onto our daily lives.
We think the “owner’s manual” view doesn’t do the Bible justice.
Because while it’s not a how-to guide, the Bible is full of truth—even in stories that may not have happened as written. It’s rich with wisdom—even if it’s not prescriptive. And it asks the kinds of questions humanity has wrestled with for thousands of years.
That’s why our new series is called The Bible: Much Assembly Required. Together, we’ll explore what the Bible can do, what it can’t, and how it still speaks powerfully into our lives today—without pretending it’s something it isn’t.
From lifelong Bible nerds Vince and Jeff, this series will help you fall a little more in love with this wild, beautiful, broken, and deeply human collection of writings from our spiritual ancestors.
Join us Sept 28 as we start putting the Bible back together again.
Series Ran September 28th- November 2nd.
