We’re in the middle of a massive societal change – a change that I think is so desperately needed. People in power are being called out and made to answer for their abuse of their power, especially in their sexual interactions.
Like many of you, I was given “No Means No” instructions when relating to someone sexually. But the stories coming out, at least to me, illustrate the failure of this “No Means No” mandate. In the stories of so many, the “No’s” of innocent people were simply not enough to protect them from sexual violence. Culturally, it seems, these “No means No” instructions need to change.

This week, in an effort to support this shift driven by the heroic victims of sexual harassment and assault, we want to raise awareness of an update to the “No Means No” instruction. A cultural update that could one day help balance out the power equation leading to less abuse. They call it “Consent Culture” and I’m going to explain it on Sunday! Whether you are a parent or teen, man, or woman – we believe you need to be aware of this and to help bring change.

Please be advised: We will be discussing sexual harassment and abuse scenarios which could be sensitive for some people.
