It’s inspiring isn’t it, to hear stories of people who have so unselfishly given back to society in remarkable ways? People who have quietly volunteered their personal resources to help alleviate suffering, to bring justice, or to just simply make their world better. Their stories often have a way of motivating us to consider what our lives are about – what good we’re doing with what we have. I think this is because, deep down, we all want to be people who give back — who help others who are in need in some way. Many realize that a ME-centered way of life rarely delivers what we think it will. That deeper fulfillment and meaning can be found not just by getting but by giving.

So why don’t more people actually engage in this way of life? What stops us from giving back in more intentional ways?

This Sunday, through the stories of two women from within our own community, we want to explore the answers to these questions. We’re pretty sure their stories and the conversation will inspire and encourage you to take important steps that lead to a life of giving back.
